I bought these to use with tapestry bobbins as I make my own loom and just wanted to dive into the work without twisting my bobbins too tight need to get started . They feel very comfortable in the hand, are very light and easily fit through a 1/4 inch gap in the neck. between chains.) They are smooth on the hands, very light. They don't take up a lot of yarn, but they aren't designed for thick yarn either. I like that they are square, fit well on the tapestry and don't hang around on their own. I think they would work very well for bobbin lace. Square ends would be really nice so they don't curl around the cookie pan. My only advice would be to poke a tiny hole in the square end so you can add beads to distinguish between pairs (since bobbin lace is knit in pairs) or color or strip them with markers.
