My dog is quite stubborn. The first time we bought a collar that only responded to his barks, but it didn't work at all. So I ordered this one and it made a huge difference! Now I can let him off the leash on the beach and if he runs away I just vibrate the collar and he comes running back. I have to say he's scared of the "noise" the collar makes when you use the sound button. Maybe we made it too loud for his little ears. I'll try to adjust the volume. Switching works too, but we don't use it unless he's acting crazy when he sees a specific dog. The only minor complaint I would have is that the remote doesn't always work on the first try. Sometimes you have to press the same button over and over before it does what you expect it to: vibrate or beep. But overall like the experience and customer service. Our remote stopped working after a few weeks, we received a full refund and I re-ordered the same set! Wouldn't risk it with any other set!
