I used this DPDT switch in my RV to switch between shore power and inverter power. You must swap both the hot (black) wires and the neutral (white) wires to solve neutral connection problems. This switch is configured ON1 - OFF - ON2 and remains in one of three positions. This is not a momentary contact switch. [ON1 position - (1) and (2) are connected, and also (4) and (5) are connected; OFF position - terminals are not connected; Position ON2 - (2) and (3) connected and (5) and (6) connected] The switch is designed for very heavy duty applications and easily fits into a handy box. Since the switch's screw terminals are relatively close together, I crimped the ring or spade terminals on the ends of the wires before screwing them onto the switch. Using bare wires was impractical.
