I bought the 1.2m version to use with the OnGuard Mini U-Lock to secure my new vintage Schwinn. It's a good length that gives me versatility in a variety of safety situations. I can thread one end of the cable through the other around a bar or light post, then thread the free end through the rear wheel/frame and secure the loose loop to the front wheel with, say, a U-lock. I can also thread the ends of the cable through the front wheel and rear wheel/frame and attach the ends to the bike rack with a U-lock. bike frame. Eventually I gave up trying to wind it up and just pushed it to the bottom of one of my baskets. The U lock is in another basket for balance. Some reviewers think this is a cheap looking cable. The guys who recently stole some of my coworkers bikes seemed to think my cable/lock was fine since my bike hadn't been touched. Or maybe they just felt sorry for whoever spent more on the security system than the bike costs :D
