It could work. I think it will really depend on your particular dryer. My Bosch has a very narrow front loading opening. I can insert it, twist it and get a lot of lint. But when I pull it out, most of the lint is scraped off and falls back. The sand at the bottom of the fluff filter will not be affected. I ended up finding a very thin vacuum nozzle that I like better.
