I have a black over the hat net I have been using for 7 years when hiking. I saw this and thought I'd give it a try to combine the hat and the net in one. This is not an attractive hat but a functional hat. I was afraid the crown would be too tall. I was relieved after receiving the product that the crown is actually kind of shallow.The lining is mesh and the vents are functional. The net is attached to the brim. The brim has no wire to hold the shape therefore the weight of the net pulls the brim down a bit. The net is long enough to let the hands inside to eat and drink (some nets you can't do that) when taking a refueling break when hiking.The dark nets offer better vision. They also cut down glare when the sun is bright. I don't need to wear sunglasses when I have my net on, a relief not to have sunglasses on my face when it's hot and clammy.Overall a decent investment for the price.
