Unfortunately not at all the quality of the original BK.

Very nice shoe. i love bk I was too young to ever have a pair during their initial popularity boom and I remember my older brothers Mom and Dad begging and begging for them when the MC Hammer commercial was on TV. British Knights have had several comebacks since becoming a KMart brand in the mid to late '90s. Their first wave of comebacks was between 2008 and 2013 and then again in 2015. I bought a pair during both campaigns and have the original pair on a shelf in my apartment. I don't consider myself a "sneaker lover", I like BK and they are affordable enough (cheaper than 1990!) to buy from time to time. The original shoes were of very good quality. Her shoes for the return of the first wave were also very good. However, the quality has dropped significantly since then. Each of the six pairs of new leather shafts I bought fell apart almost completely, and quickly. I've had three types of Dymacel and they all fell off the sole completely after a few months of walking around town. However, they made a common Dymacel model which is brown on brown and they are noticeably better in quality and have not started to fall apart at all. These were also $300 when they were released (I bought mine off eBay for $40). These Kings models are pretty bad. As I own an original pair of Kings I can directly compare the quality of the 1990's to this model. It's out of competition. These new ones have no stitching to keep the midsole on the real shoe. There's a notch where the production company should have sewn and done in the early '90s, but there are no seams. It's incredibly cheap stuff. It's a sin I can't forgive, and neither can my other couples who at least looked like they were trying to have quality. No stitching to hold the shoes together, just glue. This works on running shoes, but not on shoes with a two-inch midsole. It's really a big disappointment. They look great but are a far cry from the original quality that once rivaled the best names in the business. They don't last 1/5 as long as a pair of Reebok or Nike high-top sneakers, for example. It's clear they care little about making anything permanent, and that's disappointing. It will most likely be my last. I need to switch to old school Filas or something. It's just unacceptable when the MSRP is almost the same as new Nike shoes that last 5 times longer, if not longer.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
