Review on Nik HDR Efex Pro2 by Patrick Hamilton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best High Dynamic Range image processing tool

It's fast, it gives you options that are just not in any other software out there right now. You can have your images look like they're from one camera or 10 cameras at once! I don't dislike anything about this app so far - if you want something simple give Fx Photo Studio a try first because i think it has more features but will take longer to learn how to use them correctly than with Nik HDR-EfexPro. My favorite part of using NikHDR-EfexPro is being able to create different looks by adjusting color temperature and adding Lightroom Presets to it. The only thing I wish was better would be having the ability to adjust white balance individually per channel (RGB) instead of doing everything manually. This makes my life easier as sometimes colors get weirdly colored while taking pictures outside where lighting conditions change drastically over time. Having all these tools available lets me achieve amazing results without spending hours getting lost in menus trying.

Pros
  • High quality output for many formats.
  • Easy interface/useability when shooting photos; great learning curve even though its easy enough anyone could pick up quickly after an hour+ practice session
Cons
  • Not much control regarding individual channels' WB
  • Somewhat expensive
