I should probably start this review with a word of caution: I don't use this pot to make cold coffee. I don't even like cold coffee - haha! Of course, this jug isn't advertised as just a cold drink, but seems to focus heavily on that in its ads and directions. Rather, I use this pot mainly for iced tea. I take regular tea bags that I usually use for hot tea and let them soak in cold water for 24 hours. That is delicious! I also have loose leaf teas which are great for this pitcher as the filter is thin enough to prevent unwanted particles from passing through. The shape of the jar and the fact that it is made of glass make it very attractive. It feels strong and durable and looks great in the fridge or on a shelf. Adding and removing a filter is very easy and cleaning is easy. The nice thing is that the lid and filter close separately, so you can still leave the lid on the jug after using the brewing filter, or just use it like a regular jug! This jug comes with an extra rubber filter gasket so it's good to know that if in the future one of the gaskets gets old and cracks or doesn't seal properly for some reason I have a replacement ready to go.
