I bought these because I have a music studio and I don't have enough space on my desk for my CB and mouse. I wanted something cheap because I already had a melamine board that I like to sit on. AT LEAST, use your own screws to attach the bracket to the table. I use mine with a 1/2" thick board, so I'm not sure why the product says at least a 1"+. Just drill pilot holes and trust your installation. Was it worth it? Yes. Do I pay another $7 for one that doesn't move? May be. Am I paying over $60 for a "perfect" keyboard tray? No way.
