It works as intended
I used these to help with a garden box lid. It helped but didn't have the strength required (67 lbs). So I ordered a heavier rack (100 pounds). It's an improvement, but still not as strong as I need it to be. But they work as advertised. Trial and error method. The lid is heavy, made of pressed wood and has double safety glass. The 100-pound racks definitely make lifting easier, but aren't strong enough to hold the lid open.
