Review on ๐Ÿ–ค Gray Bluetooth HRM Chest Strap - POLAR H10 Heart Rate Monitor, Compatible with iPhone & Android by Michelle Wright

Overpriced, with limited connectivity.

I brought the H10 in November 2018 and the first disappointment was that it worked with ANT+ devices at all so I didn't get it could connect other devices I have like my Garmin sports camera which can record external sensors including HRM. The device seemed to work well with the iOS apps, although both apps lack some basic features: where's the giant heart rate display with treadmill and min/max/avg stats? Apps try TOO HARD to be sophisticated and they miss the most basic features. They also require a login and a permanent login (why?). HRM without a simple full-screen health gauge is like a speedometer that doesn't show speed but lots of other fancy data received from it. be easy The final blow was that Polar finally announced with great fanfare its support for ANT+ and promised to change this feature through a firmware update, but despite the latest version of the iOS app (4.1.1.408), no update is offered for my device . I think that's the price you pay for early adoption: unfinished products are replaced and abandoned within months of their release as hardware changes are pushed into production. Needless to say, I won't be buying the H10 again in hopes of getting an updated version a second time: I'm buying a dual-mode Garmin HRM with Bluetooth LE and ANT+ certified connectivity for one right now considerable amount less money than the Polar H10. I bet on the underdog and that was a mistake.

Pros
  • Upgradable firmware: The heart rate monitor has firmware updates that improve functionality
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
