Until a few years ago I didn't know there was a difference between soap and detergent. It's dishwashing liquid, as opposed to the dishwashing liquid I sometimes buy at the grocery store. Soaps are made from natural ingredients while detergents are made from synthetic ingredients. I really like this dishwashing detergent. I ordered the lavender scent, it smells very nice. Smells like real lavender bush, not artificial lavender. I tried this with one side of my large double sink. It doesn't foam as much as the dish soap I usually buy at the grocery store, but I suspect that's because it's made from natural ingredients. My dishes were as clean as ever. I wet the greasy casserole dish at the end of the wash and it came out clean too. The soap washed off easily and there was no trace of the lavender scent on the dishes and glasses. I'm not sure I would buy this product again due to the higher price. It doesn't take much to wash a sink full of dishes, but nobody in my family seems to think about using less. I'm thinking of hiding it under the sink for my own use and storing the dish soap from the supermarket for the rest of my family. I would give this product 5 stars if it weren't for the horrible leak. The soap is runny and too much product pours out of the large spout.
