Review on Singerman Labs Concrete Rust Remover - Convert 22 oz into 1 Gallon by Tyler Owens

I have used it on Unilock pavers to remove rust stains left by cheap deck chairs. I guess every time it rained rusty water dripped onto the patio, but we didn't realize it until we removed the furniture at the end of the season. These stains probably accumulated over several months and a 15 minute application removed them completely. (You can see in the photo I missed a spot, but there are instructions on how to make a cup of rust remover in small batches, so I'll go back and do this.) For reviews where people have had residue or bleaching issues, I assume that this is due to inattentive reading of the instructions. It states that you should work in small areas and start with less time and work. It also says that the composition should not be allowed to dry on the surface. If left to stand and dry for too long, a precipitate is likely to form. Also, keep in mind that in addition to rust, this material also removes dirt. So if you have a concrete area or patio that has had dirt build up on it for the past 20 years and you treat an area to remove rust, that area will remain sparkling clean. This will likely make it appear discolored compared to the surrounding areas. You may need to treat a large area or use a pressure washer to clean the rest of the surface. Finally: when mixed it gets quite thick and sticky and white clumps form towards the end. I strongly recommend that you purchase a mixer attachment for an electric drill. I bought one from my local paint store for $6 and it worked really well. The white powder still had clumps, but that didn't change anything.
