Review on πŸ”Œ Wireless Keyboard Mouse Supported 4 Port VGA KVM Switch with USB Hub, Audio, and Push Button Switching by Chris Cruz

Connections are weak and broken

The first problem I had was that the cables were too short to use with a sit/stand desk when you flip the switch on the desk and who have computers on the floor. I was able to get a longer cable from Jide, but it would be better if they actually sold longer cables (really only needed an extra 6ft). Alternatively, it could be documented which DE-15 cables can be used as extension cables. The main problem I've found with prolonged use is that the connections aren't entirely reliable. The *cables* that came with the switch do not screw into the DE-15 connectors on the switch. You can try tightening them, but apparently the threads on the cable are different in size/pitch than the pins on the switch, or the pins are just bad. In any case, the cables simply plug into the ports and can easily fall off with a simple movement. And the port for the shared keyboard just broke. Luckily, there's also a "hub" port that the keyboard works with too, although that port has never been very secure. when I boot into the MSWin partition (had the same problem with 2 different computers and different keyboards). Thankfully, I rarely boot MSWin anyway, but that's enough time to forget I have a problem. So the reliability of the machines with this switch was a plus.
