Review on πŸͺž Gila Privacy Mirror Adhesive Window Film: DIY Heat & Glare Control – 3ft x 15ft (36in x 180in) by Vanesa Williams

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The product is very difficult to work with, especially on large windows.

I will update this review as soon as I get my money back. I'm sure Gila Privacy Mirror Adhesive works for some people. But my experience gave minuses and only one plus. NOTE: I emailed them and they replied. I was offered a refund. However, the process is a bit complicated and involves providing receipts, codes and a 'guarantee sheet'. Why would they care if I bought both the kit and the tape from Revain? It's like the bad old days when you had to submit claims through the mail and wait for months only to be told they needed another document. Pro: If you're not picky about bubbles or warping, you can leave the film on despite imperfections. . It will definitely reduce glare. Cons: Overall: I don't claim to be Mr. Fixit. But there are a number of points in film application where if you don't get it EXACTLY right, your final product will show it. And I did all those things and I still wasn't happy. Be ready. If you crumple the foil or bend it slightly, the instructions tell you, and it's certainly true, that just like with aluminum foil, you can't straighten that crease. Note that your chances of avoiding this problem are much better if you spray a large amount of soap solution (make your own using 1/4 teaspoon baby shampoo per quart of water) all over the slide from the start. -- It's really difficult to cut the film once on the window. The corners are particularly difficult. I couldn't get it right. A NOTICE. It's much easier to use your shaver in an app kit that you can buy for this purpose. I don't think selling application tools individually is a good deal. For example, I just ordered and assembled a TV stand. All the tools were there. But Gila sells its installation kit separately. If you don't mind paying extra for the kit, then that's no problem either. "I followed the instructions in the letter. I watched videos (which is good) and other videos posted by other customers. I watched them several times and followed how I actually went about the project. But I just can't get the corners to stay down or get the waves off the glass. Again, if you have any building or crafting experience, you can do very well. But I could not.
