bought 3 of these kettles; one in 2015 (lime green) and two more for me and a friend in 2017 (lime green and red). After almost daily use, what I bought in 2017 finally broke the on/off switch. At first it seemed like more pressure was needed, and after a few weeks it stopped working at all, so I threw it in the trash. But the one I bought 5 years ago and use on site still works fine. Find out! Another downside is that there is some kind of plastic or glue between the glass base at the bottom of the kettle and moisture gets in and discolors after a while. But that's not the water part. I like the colors (although they seem to fade over time) and overall for only $20 the kettle wasn't bad so not too ramshackle. Next time I will still choose a different brand/model as the quality of this company seems to have deteriorated over time.
