Surprisingly, paper towels work very well. It *feels* too thin and has no tear lines, but is very absorbent and tears easily. I use for daily household needs. It stands upright in the corner of my kitchen counter with no problem, and it's easy to pull out and tear off just the right amount. A roll lasts me 3 months. Everyone has their own opinion and experience, but as this is a 'one roll' or narrower compared to regular paper towel rolls, this item is designed to be used in a dispenser. That's why it's narrower and a continuous sheet - as I described above, nothing about its design impacts my use and it's extremely absorbent compared to other budget brands of towels found in retail stores - which is the most important part about paper towels in my house. As a true Bounty fan, I honestly prefer this Kimberly Clark towel and save a ton of money by reducing paper usage ☯
