The material and workmanship of this mount seems very solid but I have a big design issue. As you can see in the picture, the smooth disc (where the TomTom suction mount attaches) is inserted fairly deep into the base. This causes the TomTom's bottom bezel to hit the rim around the smooth pane, which in turn prevents you from tilting the TomTom's screen down (this is true on my XXL at least, I'm not sure if the same issue occurs on other models). ). This is a problem when you need to tilt the screen down to avoid sunlight, screen reflections, etc. This problem is exacerbated when you need to plug in the power cord as it slides under the bottom bezel. Not sure if this only affects XXL, but it's clearly a design issue that TomTom hasn't thought through.
