Review on 🖥️ MSI B550-A PRO ATX Motherboard (AMD AM4, DDR4, PCIe 4.0, SATA 6Gb/s, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI/DP) by Alexis Guiney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good board, a bit expensive due to the lack of an S/PDIF connector (optical audio).

The board was pre-flashed for my use of Ryzen 5, 5600x processor, no firmware needed to be flashed to make it work. Admittedly, it was my fault for not knowing that this board didn't have an S/PDIF (optical audio) connector, but in my defense, for the price, this board should have come with a connector like gigabyte boards and asrock of similar Quality. and the price goes with one. In hindsight, I should have paid about $20 extra back then and gotten the same model motherboard with an S/PDIF connector instead of buying a $60 sound card with one to support my 5.1 surround sound. However, the good thing about this board is that the second m.2 slot uses the low hardware address of the full-length PCI-E slot and not 1 or 2 SATA slots. So even if both M.2 drives are full, you still keep your SATA slots.

Pros
  • Supports up to 128GB (4400MHz) dual channel DDR4 memory
Cons
  • Approximately
