These are the thinnest 100% cotton socks without some sort of constricting top that do not fall down and last more than a few washings that I have found. Machine wash in cold water and line dry to prevent shrinkage and to prolong their life. I am a repeat customer. My first purchase lasted more than a year of constant use before holes started to develop. I would recommend buying high fashion shoes (women's) a half size bigger if you want to use these socks and not have your shoes stretch out a bit (i.e., for non-sneaker type shoes). There are thinner (and often more expensive)socks available, but the tops all leave marks on my legs which these do not, yet they stay up. I have average size calves.
