The rod works well as a bit driver and contains two bits inside, but if you need more than two you'll need to use the included gray case. This wastes some space in a small bag, since you have to take both the latch and the gray case with you. So if you only want to carry one barbell, make sure you don't have to tighten the screws more than two sizes. Or, if you just want to carry a suitcase, make sure you have a different bit driver.
