Review on ๐Ÿ”ช 8-Inch Chef's Knife: Victorinox Fibrox Pro, the Ultimate Choice for Chefs by Jessica Prive

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best knives you'll find unless you're willing to pay around $1,000 to cut things a little better

It cuts things. and cut things well. What else do you need to know? Buy them already! Seriously, we wanted to get some adult knives because we love to cook and have tried low quality sets. I've done my research and these are literally the best knives money can buy (btw this is the same company that invented the Swiss Army Knife). Are you a professional chef? If not, you probably don't need that $300 chef's knife, and even if there were, I seriously doubt you'd notice that much of a difference. The blade came sharp, I keep it sharp with a sharpener, and I bought a wet stone, but I haven't had to sharpen it yet because the sharpener did what it was supposed to. The handle is very comfortable and the weight and balance make it easy to use. I love using my Victorinox knives and so far they have all won me over (I haven't had a chance to use a bread knife yet). I know someone is probably thinking "But they're so pretty", do you want chef's knives or wall art? Would you pay an airline bus more money to put up laminated Monet posters behind each headrest? Even if you're not sure, buy them and you can always upgrade the ones you need later and either have a backup or gift it to someone more grateful (joke it's your money so buy what you want :) If If you're reading this and still don't know, don't put your knives in the dishwasher. If you don't plan on hand washing your knives, you're not ready to invest in good knives just yet, as the blade will chime and turn your good knives into sharp butter knives.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
