Compared to the old Thetford, it replaces this one, overall it's "lighter". The shipping box appeared empty when it arrived. The plastic doesn't feel as stiff or thick as the old block, but it feels like it will support the average person's weight once it's actually inserted and bolted. Improved plastic I think. The parts seem more accessible for repairs than the old bottom valve model which alone would cost 2/3 the cost of the parts. The only thing I really don't like is the hand held spray attachment option that I bought with this one. It can only be used while flushing the toilet, which means two-hand operation. Hold flush/fill handle open with right hand while attempting to use sprayer with left hand. It's embarrassing. Expected the atomizer to work independently for cleaning. Had I known it worked that way I wouldn't have paid extra for a spray gun, just bought it and a split elbow outlet at a hardware store and installed behind it instead. It will be much easier to use. In the original state, unless you have three hands, you cannot use the toilet brush to clean while spraying. And using both uses a lot of water. Something to consider if you do a lot of dry camping.
