Cut above! on Hair Care

I bought these scissors for my wife who is a licensed cosmetologist. It's important to remember that at this price point you are not buying premium, professional quality scissors. Comparing them to a pair of scissors worth $300 or more is unrealistic. The scissors make a well-made impression. They are sharp, cut well, and cut well. As with most "economy" scissors, I would expect them to dull a little faster than higher quality products. My wife uses them as a backup. a pair for emergencies. On the other hand, if you plan to use them for yourself, your family, or for some other light use (slightly less frequent than "every day"), you will probably very much enjoy the product yourself, these model e45 multicolored scissors RAZECO. The scissors are 5.5 inches long and are made of J2 420C stainless steel. They're "titanium-coated," but it's debatable how much durability this adds, if any. This should add some hardness to keep it sharp, but the coating just isn't as good as a blade that contains titanium. The scissors have a removable finger rest and rubber inserts to cushion the finger holes. 420 grade stainless steel is considered "cutlery quality”. The package contains a black vinyl triangular "bag" no case so be careful if you visit the manufacturer's website and see a prettier case in the product description. It also includes a clear plastic tip cover. This is for shipping, but you can use it for storage if you'd like. Survorna also sells a higher quality line of products. This is the RAZPRO line. The scissor blades are made of 440C steel, which is better than the RAZECO 420 quality. Other differences, depending on the model: the finger rest is curved (but not removable), the thumb hole can be rotated and the body is more comfortable. The Pro line costs just a little more than the Economy line. Again, I don't think you can compare a line of products to professional scissors for the price. I think that for the price and ease of use these scissors are more than adequate and not every day the user will be completely satisfied with them. Perfomance. I could give them a 5, but for two reasons: I need to use the scissors a little longer to appreciate their durability, and the manufacturer needs to update their website so they don't mislead consumers by asking for a better case than the one provided advertises . with the product. If you are interested in steel grades in general, 440 stainless steel comes in several grades, the most common being 440A, 440B, and 440C. 440C contains the most carbon. This makes it the hardest of the 440 grades and harder than 420, so 440 offers better edge retention. After 440 steel you need higher quality scissors. The next grade is S (contains cobalt), then V (contains vanadium and/or titanium) and ATS (contains cobalt, vanadium and titanium). IMPORTANT NOTE: The type of steel is only one of the important aspects for the quality of a pair of scissors. The quenching process and the overall quality of the finish also have a major impact on the performance and lifespan of the product.
