This blender is crazy - seriously. It mixes with almost everything. I was torn between Blendtec and Vitamix because they both have great features and work very well. In the end, I chose Blendtec for one reason - the blade is dull. In fact, that's an advantage for two reasons: you don't have to worry about the blades becoming dull and needing to be replaced, and you don't have to worry about cutting your finger while cleaning. We had some concerns about how a dull blade might blend, but I have to say - it sharpens pretty much anything. We mainly use it for smoothies and have been making smoothies almost every day since we got it. This includes some smoothies with high-fiber ingredients like kale, apples (unpeeled), oranges (peeled, of course), pineapple, and more. Even fruits with seeds like blackberries come out much better than other blenders - you can still tell they're there, but the seeds are usually ground so fine they don't get caught between your teeth. You have to mix smaller batches - good for making syrup and such. I will say one thing - the top gauge line on both jugs is worth noting - if you fill them too much you could potentially end up with a mess. on your hands if you're not careful. This blender is powerful.
