Bought the lock and chain excited about the good price ($93 for 6ft size). When I received it I measured the thickness and the lock is actually 14mm thick (maximum) and that is with a rubber coating around it. It's listed as 16mm thick, so that's a disappointment. Especially when you consider that the actual Steoo piece, the piece that actually protects your item, is only about 12mm thick (maybe even less). In addition, the U lock feels very thin as it is very loose and light. Also, the U part is small so there isn't much work to do with it if you want to attach something other than a chain to it. I returned the u-lock to exchange for another, assuming and hoping they had sent me the wrong u-lock. For the price, of course, they have a bigger and stronger lock! When I received the replacement, it was exactly the same size and even thinner. The only reason I give this product 2 stars is because the chain is advertised as 12mm thick and as advertised ALMOST 6 feet long (59 inches). Shipping was very fast. I do not recommend this product because while the chain is stiff, the U-lock is a weak point. It is also not tamper-proof. Almost any U-lock up to 14mm can be cut with a decent pair of cheap bolt cutters and these are 12mm from the base steel. Instead I went with Kryptonite 1217 (1213 is good too) which has higher quality steel and accurate dimensions. In addition, the lock is pick-proof for the average thief. It takes a professional to open it.
