Review on High-Performance Sigma 30mm F1.4 Art Lens πŸ“· for Canon: A Must-Have for Precision and Creative Photography by Som Chai ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good balance of price/quality, recommend it.

(I am writing in my wife's account) I handed it over immediately for adjustment. Result: two with three pluses. I bought a docking station - there is also no ice (I adjusted it at a close distance - the distant ones are loose). It's hard to eliminate back or front when autofocus is unstable and fidgets both in front and behind the object . Nevertheless, I still found some kind of middle ground. Now you get great pictures. As for the picture, the blur is very peculiar, foggy-smooth. Do not compare with the "bounce" (quite pleasant) on Kenon 50mm 1,8. It's not bad and not good - just its own picture. Conclusion: measure several glasses when buying and buy a docking station - this is 10% of the price of the lens and you will be happy for relatively little money. I do not recommend taking without it. Probably the new lens at "5" does not need to be debugged, caulked with tow and wrapped with blue electrical tape, but you need to use it right away, so I lower the score for dancing with a tambourine around autofocus. Sigma calls it a new vision :)

Pros
  • Fantastic build and design. Sturdy, austere body made of dull composite material. It produces very beautiful colors (this is purely subjective, of course, but they are somehow special). Beautiful unusual blur. Light sources are just magical in bokeh. Convenient FR for crop (it’s a bit crowded in a room with a fifty dollars). Sharp (when it hits) and contrast. Not expensive.
Cons
  • Autofocus (or assembly of a specific sample . or quality control . call it what you want) - rubbish. It is very lame, but for this money it should .
