I hope people read this review before purchasing read: for bluetooth music streaming. Everything worked great initially, including network functions, MusicCast functions and the app, up until a failed firmware update (which claims it's available. BUT don't). Tried to call Yamaha support on 2 different days, spent over 2 hours on hold each time and never had a chance to speak to anyone, EVER. I even tried the Yamaha support chat on their website and was told that my issue should be escalated to someone higher up. still waiting for a call back. Spent most of Saturday locating and reading Yamaha technical support documents. I followed the instructions exactly (I have an MIS degree) to update the firmware using a USB stick, but despite numerous attempts, the YAS-408 MusicCast soundbar was unresponsive and still doesn't work properly: no bluetooth, none Network connection, no MusicCast functionality or app etc. I had no choice but to return the unit which Revain did great and I will try to replace it. This will give it a second chance, but I pray I never have to call or otherwise rely on YAMAHA customer service. Yamaha should be ashamed; Their support is terrible and in my experience DOESN'T exist. (Seriously, Yamaha, invest in your support call center with better management, train techs, and pay them a living wage so you can attract and retain employees who care about their jobs. Stop what's probably a Revolving door is. How you feel about your own (staff largely speculate on the quality of your products.) I really hope people read this review before they buy!
