Review on Whitmor Dryer Balls Blue Set by Kevin Urena

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The only downside is that you need more than two

Let me start by saying that you need more than two of these dry balls to get the benefits. I currently use six. (That's more of a fault with the manufacturer and why I'm giving this product four stars instead of five.) Some people mention tennis balls as an alternative. While tennis balls likely have the same fluffy effect as this product, lifting your clothes so the dryer heat can do its job faster, the convex surface of dryer balls has the added benefit of slightly rubbing the surface of the clothes as they bounce around . It really makes the clothes softer. This is the same principle as stone washing, which of course makes any fabric softer. While the first two dryer balls I bought didn't do much, I did notice a difference in the softness of my laundry when I dried a load of six for the first time. I wondered why my expensive designer clothes never felt the same after the first wash as they did the day I bought them. Those dryer balls gave me most of my answer. If the manufacturer had packaged them in sets of six instead of two, I think the overall score here would have been a bit higher.

Pros
  • dry balls
Cons
  • crumpled packaging
