"GameCube style " controller Battle for Nintendont

I have this PDP and the Hori Battle Pad. I was expecting them more in Nintendont than Smash Bros. Both controllers are so close to perfection but not quite, which is *really* disappointing. In the end, I prefer this PDP over Hori's. This review is for those who are more interested in GameCube games on Nintendont than Smash Bros for Wii U per se. These are what I consider the pros and cons of each. First, the main disadvantage of these two controllers. NO ANALOG TRIGGERS! Ahhh. With games like Mario Sunshine or Luigi's Mansion, this makes the game unplayable. However, the triggers on this PDP "feel" analog when you press them and there is a "click" at the end of the button press - very similar, if not identical, to the feel of a real GameCube controller. Here's what's frustrating: They've gone to the trouble of making it 'feel' like the GCN controller's analog triggers, but haven't given it any analog functionality. However, it is better than the hori mat. The PDP triggers at least fit in the fingers and feel comfortable. Hori feels like a flat piece of cheap plastic that barely moves. This part can be confusing: the original GameCube controller's shoulder buttons had "trigger" L and R at the bottom and a "Z button" at the top. . The Hori-Pad similarly has L and R "triggers" on the bottom and ZL and ZR "buttons" on the top. The Classic Controller Pro and Wii U have been swapped so that ZL and ZR are now "triggers" on the button, while L and R are "buttons" on top. Well, this PDP pad follows the WiiU/Classic Controller Pro naming convention - the top "buttons" are L and R, and the bottom are "buttons". triggers" are ZL and ZR. However, it has a mapping convention of the original GCN controller and the Hori Pad. This means that pressing "trigger" on the PDP pad - even though it's physically labeled as "ZL" " - If you close your eyes and ignore how the buttons are physically labeled, the functionality of the shoulder buttons is basically the same as the GCN controller, not the classic Pro controller. The analog sticks on this The Pad feel looks and feels like the Classic Controller Pro and the joysticks on the Hori Pad are more like the original GameCube The PDP's control panel is a bit larger but thinner, which I don't like, but overall this controller is just better and made by better Quality. The hori pad feels cheap. As I said, none of them are ideal Alan, but I think it's better overall. If you have a GCN game that requires analog triggers, you need it Finally, you get a GCN Controller Adapter and a real GCN Controller.
