We have a fireplace and our chair is by it, the screen was pulled up but a piece of wood popped out and flew into a chair and burned a hole in the seat. I bought this thinking it might help but didn't expect it to work as well as it did. Our sofas aren't new, so we didn't have to have them professionally repaired. I thought I would buy this and it may or may not work. It worked great. Hope it holds up well and doesn't break, time will tell. Although it looks ok. Photo before, during and after. The sofa is a pattern, so it's not easy to match the color, but it works.
