Worth the extra money

We installed this in the bar area of our motorhome and loved it. It is indeed much thicker than other brands and is very easy to install. We used a paper cutter, scissors, a straight edge, and a box cutter to cut. I would not recommend a paper cutter for this thick tile. My husband had the strength to hit it hard to cut it smooth and sharp, but I think a box cutter works best. And we had a damn moment. Remove the plastic wrap from the top of the tile before cutting, then reapply to smooth. The tile itself is a bit sticky. We had a few spots where we had to cut very close to the grout and it messed up the grout. We just cut because we had one left, but I think you could touch it up with paint if needed. We had a 3/4" gap under the microwave and 1/2" under another cabinet. We considered putting some skin in, but we even managed to cut out little strips to fit right there. We had nothing to caulk in this area. Use a level. Measure, measure, measure and templates are very useful. Started from the right side. It's like a jigsaw puzzle. No liability issues so far. The actual test will take place in the next few weeks as it's in the factory and has no air and is exposed to constant heat. Although we don't live in it, we keep it at the RV stop so it's always in touch. If there are problems I will update. We didn't know if we could fit it around the stove but the factory rep didn't think it would be a problem. We don't usually cook much on the stove and don't use more than one burner at a time. This is entirely up to you. So it depends on the stove and the bathroom!

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Fine
