bad seal in spares

I bought the kit and it looked great and all the parts were there. I installed the impeller and the third time the seal broke and got stuck in the impeller. My engine overheated and I had to pull it in. When I disassembled it by the case the seal was torn and pinched between the shaft and pin causing the impeller to spin freely and the motor to overheat. So the sealing material did not convince me.
