I bought this clasp to attach to a backgammon set that didn't have a clasp and it is beautiful. The clasp is simple durable metal and beautifully engraved. Looks very stylish. Easily and well fixed with screws. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the small curved piece that slides into the hole holding the clasp came loose when I put the clasp on. This isn't a problem for me because the clasp itself is so tight that a simple snap of the top over the bottom is secure enough to keep my heavy wooden backgammon case closed. I feel this clasp adds value to my very beautiful and colorful Turkish Backgammon case. I didn't use the correct loops but if I need to replace the loops on the backgammon case I will definitely use them and they match the clasp and add a touch of embellishment to my lovely case. I am very happy with this little product. It was very cheap and worked like a charm. I'll add that the lower, large locking plate didn't quite fit in my backgammon case. It's just too big for him and protrudes a little over the edge of the open suitcase. This forced me to use two extra smaller screws that actually come with loops to secure this half of the clasp and I taped them to the bottom as well for extra security. I am so proud of my craft! I am a grandmother and have no carpentry skills.
