Memory has become almost a commodity these days, and there's little that separates one from the other other than reliability—it either works or it doesn't. Hynix offers high quality, reliable memory at the lowest prices. For only $25, I upgraded an old laptop from 1GB to 4GB of memory, which greatly improved the overall responsiveness of the laptop. Combined with a $10 SanDisk 32GB Slim USB drive for caching files, my 8-year-old laptop now works like new again. I could have swapped out the hard drive for an SSD for maximum performance, but these two upgrades got me the most bang for my buck. DDR2 memory is obsolete by today's standards, so it's becoming increasingly difficult to find vendors that still sell it, but Hynix has done a commendable job of filling this niche at a very competitive price.
