Sturdy shelf made of powder-coated steel. There is a small ledge on the shelf, which can be useful when storing small items on the shelf. This can also be a problem with some items. I install three of these including two that were back to back with one in reverse order. This saves rack space as the space is used by the rack mounting bracket. The color is a relatively flat black and I found it matched my 19" Hammond racks well. The holes in the shelf are also useful, both for ventilation and for securing small items so they don't fall off the shelf.
