This turntable mechanism has been used in many well-known brands of turntables over the past 30 years, most recently in the Crosley Keepsake turntable, but Crosley used a moving magnet pickup instead of the included ceramic pickup. The ceramic cartridge has been commonplace for cheaper branded turntables for the past several decades. The contact pressure on this unit is 5 to 6 grams which is correct for this cartridge, not 1.5 to 2.0 grams as stated in the product description. This device features an automatic arm return stop when the arm reaches the end of the record's playing range. It was $20 a few months ago, but supply is low, so the price has gone up. This is a better platter mechanism than the small platter mechanism used in inexpensive turntables today.
