Review on Digital Converter Toslink Adapter Support by Alex Jones

This converter/decoder was perfect for my hardware setup. I connected a TV that only had an optical output to the analog inputs of a Bose Wave music system used as an external speaker. Panasonic's 40-inch plasma TV only has an optical output (using a Toslink optical cable). You cannot set the TV to only output PCM (Pulse Coded Modulation). Many older TV shows can be broadcast in PCM, but all new shows are broadcast in Digital DTS/AC3 (Dolby Surround Sound). The Bose Wave music system (radio/stereo) has stereo inputs with analog RCA connectors that require PCM. Input via Toslink (from TV) into analog stereo signals using analog RCA cabling AND DECODE DTS/AC3 digital to PCM (for Bose). And along with all the good stuff, it comes with an optical cable. and a 5V DC power supply at a great price!
