Review on ASUS VY279HE Adaptive Sync Augmentation Antibacterial 1920X1080P: Experience Enhanced Eye Care and Visual Quality with HDMI, Blue Light Filter, and HD LED by Greg Drury

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great monitor but beware of quality control issues.

Pros: 0.31 point increments, suitable for elderly users with low vision. No backlight leaking. Good bright colors. It's a bit cold out of the box and can be adjusted using the monitor controls. No noticeable flickering of PWM. (Parents have sensitive eyes) Very thin bezels. Looks very modern. CONS: Poor quality control. (Read explanation below) Tin speakers. The output volume is very low. No USB ports. The semi-hidden on-screen controls are not very easy to use. No DVI connection. I was trying to get two of these monitors for my elderly parents. None of them have the best eyesight. Large dot spacing is ideal for them. Unfortunately I was only able to save 1 good monitor. The first monitor I ordered was perfect, no backlight leaks, no dead/dead pixels, no dust spots. Attempts to connect a second monitor were unsuccessful. Two subsequent monitors had issues with dead pixels and numerous dust spots on the LCD panel. Revane stated that ASUS policy states that up to 5 sub-dead pixels is within acceptable limits. I was denied a third monitor. Great monitor but beware of quality control issues.

Pros
  • 75 Hertz
Cons
  • Limited adaptive sync capabilities
