There are three presets that make it easy to set cup size, temperature and strength. The lowest temperature is ideal for me so that I can drink immediately. I put it in a thermos to keep it warm for about 5 hours. The highest temperature should keep your drink very hot for a long time. The coffee tastes amazing and beats our old Keurig by a mile. My main issue is that the length of the cup you can put in there isn't very good. It's almost big enough for a standard sized thermos. I also wish it could hold more water.
