I bought this as a gift/surprise. I'm very disappointed, it's just a cheap toy, there's no practical use unless used as a costume prop. The love of my life, my gift from God, my 5 year old granddaughter tried not to show her disappointment and it broke my heart to see that. I bought her 10 year old brother a different brand of binoculars that were only a few dollars more. I thought these would be more age appropriate. However, they were immediately useless, lesson learned. Thank god the birding book I ordered was very good and the kids loved it. However, they only had one copy, which we all share. I actually saw a brother sharing his binoculars with his younger sister, very touching. I need to get her some real binoculars. Sharing a book wasn't a problem though.
