too positive for this component to be stainless steel! Yes, I know most stainless steel is magnetic to some degree. But not like this! I use the same magnet to test all metals and I know good samples are available for comparison. The end and head of the FNPT collet, on the other hand, are nowhere near magnetic enough to be any steel, stainless or otherwise. Probably brass or zinc on the FNPT end and almost certainly zinc on the head end. You can even see the built-in electroplating on it. Aside from the fact that the ad is a blatant lie, the thing just looks cheap. Like: cheap in dollar store. I don't even have to return it to get a refund. Revain has to PAY ME just to throw this thing in the trash!
