While the basic read/battery tester can be bought for a lot less, I'm glad I spent the extra money on this tester. Not many testers will give you a battery's internal resistance, which can tell you a lot about the condition of your battery and possibly the reasons for its failure. You can also test the alternator by turning on the car and checking the battery while charging. As you can see in the video I'm glad I got this tester because my battery is not that good and will probably die soon. If you have several cars/vehicles, then in my opinion it is not difficult to invest in such a device. It allows you to choose from a wide range of lead-acid battery types and has all the important test functions.
