Excellent durable and portable radio

I bought this radio 4 months ago from Revain.com for 28.49 excluding shipping and taxes. I wanted it to drive city buses and drown out loud conversations. Unfortunately, this does not work on the bus. It gets a lot of static and constantly loses a strong signal. However, I found it to be great for walking around the neighborhood, lying in bed, and exercising at home (I do circles around the apartment). The reception and loyalty is really excellent. I always drop these little devices when I first get them and they've survived about 10 drops from my pocket or belt with no visible damage. It's so small that I usually put it in my pocket and it doesn't bother me at all. Headphones (Sony MDR-027 Walkman) also surprised with their fidelity and convenience. With the exception of the deep bass, they are almost on par with my Sony MDR-V300 studio monitor headphones. I'm a pretty critical listener and with these two headphones I can hear inner voices that I've never heard before. One of the downsides of the included earbuds is that the cloth earbuds fall off easily. I lost one and replaced it with a mismatched sock and now I look like Vincent Van Gogh. But it's convenient. This radio was a great deal and I am very happy with it. Update June 2005 (8 months later): I'm still very happy with this radio. It would have been nice to have a backlight so I could read the display in the dark, but I always carry a flashlight so that's not a problem. I think it's wise to go without backlight to keep the price down.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Great price
