Review on EVIL ENERGY Exhaust Manifold Stainless by Cory Jacobson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Installation can be tricky, but the hardware is top notch!

Key point: I was impressed as hell with the hardware used on this device! Being very familiar with working with cars and the force it took to actually clamp my sliding joint, I was certain the bolt or gore strip would break. It isn't and everything is holding up great, will be updated if it rusts or something else bad happens in the long run. See below for more details on my usage. The design of these clamps does not allow them to fit many exhaust pipe variations, so installation/sizing can be tedious. I used them to clamp an uncut slotted stainless steel exhaust spline. This is an example where this collar's inability to cover a larger range of diameters makes it painful. A 2.25" tube lengthened to create a slip joint is slightly too big for a 2.25" fork for the sizes listed and too small for a 2.5" fork. I took a chance that I could take the yoke apart to get enough thread to make it work and make it work. That's how it worked. I had lots of threads to get it going, but I didn't expect the amount of torque I would have to apply to get the slip joint to jam. I'm not sure if it was because of the stainless steel splines that didn't have the relief cut, but the torque I had to apply to the nut to secure the connection was tremendous for an exhaust yoke. no latch or tape wedge is the credit of this product.
