I bought two types of video/audio cables to connect my 55 inch LG Smart TV to an HP ProBook 6440b laptop. It took me some research in my computer manual to discover the program that controls the sound. When I found the switch to send audio to the display port, I was hooked. I am delighted with both the quality of the high-resolution video and the sound. I don't know how long this will take, but I like the locking button to keep the adapter securely in the displayport. The other adapter was for a VGA connection and the quality was too poor to use at home or for karaoke at my local American Legion post. I'm so glad I found a display port on this computer and adapter so we can watch our family videos on the big screen.
