I connected this pump (12v version) directly to two 100w solar panels (connected in parallel). In this state I can get enough flow from the pump. Operating Conditions: Lift approximately 10-15 feet (head) and 20 feet of 1 inch pipe in line with 200 feet of 2 inch plastic polypropylene pipe. Under these conditions, I was able to lift about 250 gallons of water in 30 minutes. Please note that the check valve is an important element when using a solar panel to power the pump. A 100w 12v panel will produce a very slow flow with this pump. If you're using a buck-boost or current-boosting well controller, you could get by with a single 100W panel. Above is the water flow for a 100W panel at midday.
