I bought these for my husband's 50th birthday (theme: gold and black). When I opened them up I was a little disappointed that they weren't as "shimmery" as I would have liked. A few days before his birthday (as these are "regular/unknown" candles I lit a few to test. 2 of the 5 tested had the black metallic worn in places. There was white wax under the candle, you've got long enough fired to sing a birthday song twice but the white wax was dripping down the sides and it didn't look good I can see all the good things about them but maybe they're just black - warning to buyers.
