Review on CKT 078 Replacement Throwout Bearing Alignment by James Jones

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Either a wrong part or just poor workmanship

Delivered quickly but that was the only benefit. The clutch and pressure plate did not match my car, although Revane said it was correct. The splines for the clutch were the wrong size and the clutch itself was much thinner and weaker than the clutch I took off after 80,000 miles. The pressure plate engaged properly, but the fingers began to flex before I got anywhere near the correct torque. After installation, the device would not turn on. I ripped everything back to make sure I installed it correctly (clutch plate properly aligned, pressure plate properly torqued, properly aligned, throwout bearing secured and of correct thickness). After re-doing the clutch a second time to check everything was installed correctly, I still had the same problem. I tried replacing the old clutch disc and pressure plate and it worked great. Very disappointed that what should have been a simple 3 hour clutch change turned into 3 days of multiple disassembly and diagnostics. They weren't badly built. Cheap but you get what you pay for. I do not recommend.
